The quest for finding the root cause of diminishing clean/freshwater and inequalities to have clean water accessible for all was initiated by Mr. Yousaf Riaz in 1995. According to Mr. Yousaf Riaz, it was the evolution of the thought process to establish waterman.pk in 2018 after serving in various public and private sector organizations.
He traveled across the country and some other parts of the world and observed many reasons, but the main reason was to consider water as wastable/throwaway product. Generally, the worth of water is not rightly estimated; it is under-estimated. Water is used/contaminated, and without treatment it makes its way towards polluting the surface and ground clean water resources.
The developed world considerably checked their attitude towards using and naturally recycling water, but the developing countries are still struggling.

Yousaf felt blessed; he started the Bio-remediation Application process to reclaim used-water for re-use from home with the support of his family. The home gray water was bio-remediated for irrigation of the rooftop vegetable garden. At the same time, he carried out various experiments and discovery of local biological resources to treat humans' contaminated water for reuse in different research institutes. Finally, the combination of local aquatic plants, microbes, and biological civil engineering construction patterns was achieved to treat used water for reuse in 2006-07 under permissible limits. Later, his family and friends continued support, and empowered him to replicate the concept on small, medium and large scale for the greater interest of all being safe from water related and water born diseases.
A consensus was developed to consider "contaminated water" as an afflicted partner of the ecosystem and it should be treated sympathetically.

Generally, people demand clean drinking water from the local, provincial, and federal governments in their areas. The treatment of used water remained ignored and later it caused contamination of clean water. It is an important obligation to request the authorities to take action along with the provision of drinking water and the treatment of humans’ polluted waters.

Yousaf Riaz gave the best of his abilities to serve the neglected sector of sick water resources. He always felt sorrow to observe human attitude to show carelessness after using freshwater and leaving sick. He feels good even five to ten percent of the contamination reduction. After twenty years of unceasing efforts to save water from contamination and recover human contaminated waters. The Government of Pakistan recognized his services in the water sector. The President of Pakistan, Mr. Mamnoon Hussain, honored him with Presidential Award on October 14, 2015.

Mr. Munsif Riaz, served sincerely the Bio-remediation process to reclaim used-water for reuse. We all went through very difficult situations to continue the Bio-remediation work under the insensitive attitude for the people to serve sick waters. Unfortunately, Brother Munsif could not survive a brain hemorrhage on February 26, 2020. It was a great loss to our family and the cause. We are grateful to God for his life to serve with us for the country’s contaminated waters recovery.
