waterman.pk acknowledges the contribution of family,
friends and professional colleagues...

"I highly acknowledge, appreciate, and be thankful for my family, friends,
countless unknown, visible, and invisible help to be Sick Waters'
Voice for Rehabilitation. "

Dr. Zafar Altaf

Chairman, PARC (2008-11)

Dr. Zafar Altaf had a vision to protect water resources from contamination and to keep people safe from water-related and water-borne diseases. He not only appreciated me for having a caring attitude towards sick waters but also created an opportunity for me to demonstrate the concept at the National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC). In 2008, I took advantage of the opportunity and began construction/development of a bio-remediation facility to reclaim used water from about three hundred offices and two officers' hostels. The project was completed in just eight months. The Bio-remediation Facility was beautified with plants on water and land. The beauty of the facility inspired us to name it the "Bio-remediation Garden." The facility treated water under the "National Environmental Quality Standards" (NEQS).
After this, the door was opened for researchers to work on it, and I was happy to work with them on the Bio-remediation Garden and NIB laboratory to improve the concept. The major credit goes to Dr. Zafar Altaf, among

so many people who had the courage to test the idea and took the risk of applying at NARC.
I learned a lot from Dr. Zafar Altaf and am highly grateful for the trust and facilitation to try my idea to apply natural forces to heal sick waters.

The implementation of the concept at NARC was the next step after the approval of the Chairman, PARC. At this phase, Dr. Iftikhar Ahmed, Director General (2008–12), NARC, was the person who made it possible to demonstrate efficiently to researchers, philanthropists, and people from corporate sectors. He assigned his students to carry out further research work on the concept of innovating more efficient ways to engage natural forces to reclaim used water. He cooperated well with me to acquire land for the implementation of the concept and all the logistical support to complete the project on time.

Dr. Iftikhar Ahmed

Director General, NARC (2008-12)

His wife, Dr. Shazia Irum, Professor of Microbiology at Fatima Jinah University , Rawalpindi, also worked with us to execute various research aspects of the concept and write research papers with her involved students.
The level of cooperation and personal interest shown by the people working in the public sector was highly appreciable to me, and I am highly obliged.

Dr. Asif Riaz

CEO, NBS Inc.

Dear Brother, you are always there to help. You deserve great appreciation for standing beside me during the toughest ongoing span of Bio-remediation Journey. Your great contributions to the Bio-remediation Concept are highly appreciable. You worked hard to open doors for Bio-remediation to be replicated to serve sick waters to be healed in the corporate sector. It was far more difficult to introduce in the public or development sector. "Your contribution is priceless in giving life to the Journey Bio-remediation to move on.

Dear Munsif, You are one of the great blessings in my life. I always find you ready to help. Your companionship for the Bio-remediation Journey was wonderful. Most of the time you acted like a shield to bear the pressure of various issues and gave me a chance to deliberate on improving the Bio-remediation solutions for organic waste management. You helped me to find an appropriate and cost-effective jointing material for polyethylene sheets. It was a great breakthrough in the field of ISFS/Bio-remediation. Otherwise, it was difficult to retain water in ponds for treatment or to construct concrete ponds with heavy investment. Your contributions remain significant in Beekeeping and Bio-remediation, I am grateful for your contributions. May God bless you abundantly.

Legendary Contributors

The individuals who worked tirelessly to move the Bio-remediation Application
from public institutes and fields to the corporate sector
should be recognised as heroes.

Their efforts and actions are legendary.

Mr. Vaqar Ziqria

Managing Director,
Hagler Bailly, Pakistan

Those who protect and save other animals lead the way in protecting and saving humanity and earth.

The Nature-based biological solution to reclaim used water appealed to Mr. Vaqr Zikria. He was in favour of using natural methods to manage used water. HWF invested plenty of time with Dr. Asif Riaz, CEO, NBS, to develop a Bio-remediation facility to treat contaminated water entering F-9 park. He also showed concern and care for the human-polluted water flowing in various canals and waterways in Lahore; for this, he worked with NBS and the Asian Development Bank to transform the contaminated water into clean/useable water. Mr. Vaqar Zikria's valuable services for the sick water's recovery and supporting the cause of providing clean water to humans and other natural resources.

Mr. Naseer Ahmed

Former, Managing Director,
Water And Sanitation Authority,
Lahore

We shall not defeat any of the infectious diseases that plague the developing world until we have also won the battle for safe drinking water, sanitation, and basic health.

Choudary Naseer Ahmed, always showed a great interest in managing used or contaminated waters. During his service at WASA, Lahore, he tried to handle Lahore City's waterways' contaminated water with Bio-remediation Application. He supported the cause and continued on with the mission of rehabilitating contaminated waters. Dr. Asif Riaz and Mr. Naseer worked hard to introduce the Bio-remediation Application in the corporate sector. Mr. Naseer played a vital role in motivating the "Multi-Professional Housing Scheme" to try Bio-remediation Ways to treat used water at MPCHS sectors F-17 and B-17, Islamabad. Both projects are operational and water is being treated under NEQS.

waterman.pk and his team highly appreciate Mr. Naseer and Dr. Asif for their painstaking efforts to apply natural ways to reclaim contaminated water for irrigation.

Dr. Asif Riaz,

CEO, NBS Inc.
Islamabad

A man filled up with the patience to learn, train, tolerate, discover, and innovate to improve living.

Dr. Asif Riaz earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Seoul National University and did his postdoctoral work in bio-engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, USA. He preferred to establish a research and development organisation in the corporate sector with us for the biological recovery of used water. It took bravery to leave the United States for other opportunities in the public and private sectors. The foundation of NBS Inc. was laid in 2012.
waterman.pk and his team highly value Dr. Asif for his out of the box decision to initiate water recovery system in the corporate sector.

Thanks
